The Rev. Thomas F. Rice joined us as Pastor on November 1, 2004, coming to us from Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.  He was born in Dearborn, but at the age of two moved to Buffalo, New York, and at 6 moved to Rochester, New York.  His parents and 3 out of his 4 siblings continue to live in Rochester.

He holds the Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  His Master of Divinity Degree is from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey.  He is nearing completion of the doctorate of ministry program from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. 

Rev. Rice served as an intern at the First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton, New York, immediately after seminary.  He then served as associate pastor and campus minister at Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb, IL (home of Northern Illinois University).  In January of 2000 Tom began serving as associate pastor for adult Christian education and high school ministry at Grosse Pointe Memorial.

Rev. Rice has led mission trips to the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico), Cuba, Jamaica, and to many parts of the United States.  He is co-chair of the Faith Relations Committee for Habitat for Humanity (Detroit).  His wife, Betsy, is also an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  They have two sons:  Daniel and Andrew.
