Worship in 2022

We strive for a community where all people can grow in love and faith. Our programs offer a deeper knowledge of the Bible, spiritual growth, and relationships that help us understand Christian community. Opportunities are available for all ages.

Adult Christian Education

Sunday Morning Bible Study meets each Sunday at 9am in the Fireside Room. This Bible Study offers a chance to dig deep and grow spiritually. Participants gain a sense of the rhythm and flow of the life of faith. Contact Marilyn Sutton if you have questions.

Children’s Ministry

Joyful Journeys is a Sunday School program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade which takes place during the service. Each Sunday, the children attend the first part of the worship service with their families in the sanctuary. Teachers offer Bible lessons, crafts, and activities focused on God's love and faithfulness.

The Prayground in our sanctuary offers dedicated space for children and families to worship. We know it’s hard to get to church with little ones in tow, so we try to make it a little easier for the whole family. We believe you’ll come to value attending church as a family as much as we value having the kids here! The Prayground offers comfy seating for children, space for parents to be nearby, quiet activities, and faith-based toys for kids.

Youth Ministry

FPCRO's youth ministry is a partnership among four local congregations in Royal Oak and Berkley. S.T.A.G.E. (Somewhere To Ask God Everything) Youth Ministry is a collaborative youth group that strives to build lifelong relationships, impact the communities we live in, and learn about and share the love of Christ.

Weekly meetings on Sundays for middle and high school students offer fun activities to build friendships and opportunities to wonder about God. The group enjoys an annual summer mission trip for high school students, and local mission activities for throughout the year. Students are always invited to bring friends to the meetings.

We would love for you to come be a part of our community. We welcome all students from any background.

Confirmation

Confirmation is offered each year to youth who are in 9th grade or above. Using the “Big God, Big Questions” curriculum, the youth take a deeper look at their faith and what it means to be a Christian and, more specifically, a Presbyterian. At the end of the course, youth who would like to become members of the church are asked to prepare a Statement of Faith. While many youth opt to write a couple of paragraphs, the Faith Statement can take many forms and past years have seen youth write and record songs or curate a photo gallery as expressions of their faith. Confirmation Class is offered each year in the winter months.
