GENERAL INFORMATION
The PreSchool 3's meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.,
The PreSchool 4's meet Monday - Wednesday - Friday
mornings, 9:00 - 11:30
a.m.
Children must be aged 3 years by Sept. 30th for enrollment in the 3-year
old class.
Children must be aged 4 years by Dec. 1 for enrollment in the 4-year
old class.
Current immunizations and doctor's health appraisal is required prior
to admission.
Children must be independent "toileters".
Sunflowers PreSchool follows the Royal Oak's Public School schedule.
There will be
no make-up for days missed.
Sunflowers PreSchool meets and/or exceeds the standards of, and is
licensed by the
State of Michigan.
Our staff is enthusiastic, creative, experienced, and caring.
Sunflowers Preschool is a non-profit organization sponsored by the
First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, Michigan.

The staff of Sunflowers Christian PreSchool promises to provide your
child
with a safe, encouraging, Christian-focused experience.
Our teachers are very proud of their play-based, pre-academic program.
Tuition for 2008 - 2009

*Church members receive a 10% discount $893.70 for 33 weeks

**Refund Policy: The $50.00 registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. Parents of children withdrawing from the program must submit their intention in writing and will receive a refund of the following months' prepaid tuition ONLY if the child is withdrawn prior to the 15th day of any given month. |
Daily Routine
a typical day at Sunflowers PreSchool
A.M. Class
9:00 - 9:25 - arrival and circle time: attendance, calendar, weather,
finger plays,
songs, discussion of the day's activities.
9:25 - 10:05 - free play time, self directed activities and crafts/small
group activity.
10:05 - 10:15 - clean-up time.
10:15 - 10:30 - wash hands / bathroom
10:30 - 11:00 - snack time
11:00 - 11:20 - teacher directed activities; music, gym, library, special
crafts.
11:20 - teachers prepare student for dismissal -
11:30 - dismissal - 1 teacher addresses parents in the hall.
Each month is "themed" : by colors (i.e., September is "red"),
science (i.e., March is "wind and water"), and nature
(i.e., October is "harvest"), learning activities, and related Bible
stories.
Program Objective
Sunflowers Christian PreSchool will provide an opportunity for your
child to develop
a positive self-image through an awareness of Christ in their world.
Social skills will develop through interaction with peers and teachers.
The teachers will provide activities that will develop fine - and
gross- motor
skills necessary for more formalized schooling.
Discipline Policy
Children will be encouraged to develop a sense of self-control, cooperation,
and respect
for others. Positive reinforcement will be given by the staff
in recognition of these qualities.
Guidelines for behavior in school will be explained
and reinforced.
Our Facility
We are fortunate to have a wonderful, supportive building and staff
at our constant
disposal. In addition to our bright, colorful, clean room; we
have a kitchen,
recreation hall, library, and outdoor courtyards for our use.
