We are teaming up with other churches in Royal Oak and Ferndale to sponsor the CROP Hunger Walk. On Sunday, September 19 the in-person walk will begin at 2 pm. There are two distances to choose from, a 1-mile or a 5K (3.1 mile) walk and both will begin and end at Zion Lutheran church in Ferndale. This walk is a fun family-friendly activity, which raises money for food for our Little Free Pantry. Donations will also support Church World Service (CWS), which responds to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster, wherever needed.

There are three ways to participate:

  • Virtual Walker means you walk a 5K or 1-mile route on a day & time you choose. Find a nice shady walking path (perhaps the new Normandy Oaks park in Royal Oak), or maybe a convenient neighborhood route, on a day with weather to your liking, at a time of day that fits your schedule, and walk. This could be a fun way to get a group of family or friends together for a bit of activity. Donations can be made via www.CROPHungerWalk.org/FerndaleMI

Scroll down and search for ‘First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak’.

  • Spirit Walkers support the CROP Walk by choosing a current FPCRO walker, and sponsors them with a monetary donation. The list of walkers from our church can be accessed from the www.CROPHungerWalk.org/FerndaleMI, Scroll down and search for ‘First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak’, and then on the right side of the screen choose DONATE.

  • In-Person Walkers join in on the fun on September 19 in Ferndale, and will walk with our group from FPCRO, either the 1-mile or 5K course. Scroll down and search for ‘First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak’, from the website www.CROPHungerWalk.org/FerndaleMI, and then on the right side of the screen choose JOIN THE TEAM.

Donations can also be made by check or cash dropped off at the church reception desk during normal office hours. Please consider choosing a way to help CWS provide food to the hungry in our community, and the world. Your support is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
